I am a student on my second year at Full Sail and I'm majoring in Game Design. I am currently working on a web game that uses the characteristics of several genres like never before. Look for SynPro soon. The game will be available for digital download.

My system is based on personal categories I feel are important to make a great flash movie or game.

Game Rating

Controls: Are the controls hard to learn or use and Do they work at all?

Playability: Is the game fun and can I play it for an extended amount of time? Do I turn to another game only after spending two minutes downloading and 30 seconds playing it?

Re-playability: Do I fell the need to come back over and over just to play it? (I wish this game was on my I phone!!!!)

Interaction: Do I feel like I'm a part of the game or can I leave the character alone for hours and rack up points? (when you push spacebar he giggles......and that's it.)

Personal Taste: Do I like this type of game? Did the graphics wow me? This category really depends on a number of things. Maybe I liked a cut scene in an action game or maybe I liked the pretty colors that on Susie's Dress while playing a Dress-up game. Again this varies.

Flash Rating

Graphics: How well the images portray the idea that the creator was trying to get across. (Is that a hotdog or.....)

Sound: Did the sound fx match well with the story? How well did the BG music mesh with the overall scene.

Storyline: This rating is based on how entertained I was by just the story alone. Is the Story line original?

Characters: If you don't care about the characters then you really don't care how it ends........unless its Horror based and even then you care enough to see them die.

Overall: How everything fit together in the final package.

Consider this: Lets say I give you a messily rating of 2. First of all I wouldn't have rated and reviewed it if something about it didn't intrigued me (Storyline, Character, Concept, Etc.) You can say well your just a person who has nothing better to do than to put peoples work down. What have you created lately, huh? Well, It's just an opinion, not everyone is going to feel this way and if they do maybe you need to get back to work on your next project. Use the criticism wisely, weed out the non-constructive ones and get to work making one hell of a Flash.
